Artist profiles
Artist verification: Spotify, Apple Music, and an Official Artist Channel.
All three statuses are free and granted by the platforms themselves. They share one condition: the music has to be delivered by a distributor.
Release with ORPLSpotify for Artists
- You need the artist link in the form spotify.com/artist/… , which the distributor provides.
- Identity is verified through a website or social channels; review is manual and usually takes a few days.
- From 28 January 2026 the Verified Artist checkmark is replaced by a Registered Artist label in the About section; it means the same thing — the profile is claimed and managed in Spotify for Artists.
- With a preferred distributor, access opens automatically when the request is submitted.
Apple Music for Artists
- The release must be live for at least five business days.
- Only the artist or their manager can claim, and only with the primary artist role — a featured credit will not do.
- If there is no answer after ten business days, contact Apple support.
YouTube Official Artist Channel
- A channel about a single artist, at least one official release delivered by a distributor, and compliance with YouTube policies.
- Plus one of four conditions — the simplest being music distributed by a partner in the YouTube Services Directory.
- The request is filed by the label or distributor; an artist cannot file it alone.
- The channel consolidates the regular, topic, and Vevo channels and unlocks Analytics for Artists, Ticketing, and Merch.
Releasing with ORPL
- Delivery through The Orchard, Sony Music's distribution arm, which is listed in the YouTube Services Directory.
- The detected Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube profiles sit in one block on the releases page.
- The artist files the claim from their own account — all three platforms require it.
- When a platform goes quiet, the request goes in from the distributor side: available with a delivered release or PRO.
